From childhood I have always loved dogs. Years ago, I bred from my much loved English Bull Terriers. The initials and names of those dogs created the anagram ‘Castlelord’.
When the Bull Terriers died in old age, I thought I would like to begin afresh with an entirely different breed.
Searching the internet for possibilities, I came across the magnificent Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs.
I thought they were beautiful. I researched them thoroughly, checking for good temperament, family suitability and lack of defects. I spent much time researching the very best breeders and finally homed in on Cattle Rustlers as clearly the best possible stock.
In 2005 I imported ‘Blue’ from Cattle Rustlers in America. Blue was the first Alapaha ever to set foot in Britain. She was already pregnant and she proved to be an excellent caring mother, producing a fine litter of puppies which are now fully grown. I did not sell any of these first puppies. I wanted to see how they would develop and before breeding, judge for myself whether their temperament was as good as promised. I have found them all to be superb dogs, full of character, highly intelligent and eager to please so they are particularly good for training and assimilating into any situation.
From this starting point, Alapaha Blue Blood Bull Bulldogs from Castlelord began.
Newly imported to Castlelord is the rather delightful ‘Dottie’ to boost the breeding stock. She is very pretty still young so it will be a year or more before she becomes a mother.
